I have not posted an update to this blog in quite a while. I have been keeping myself very busy with learning to shoot film and to process it at home. I plan to do some kind of writeup about that journey in the near future.
So, what have I been up to? Mostly I’ve been learning to develop film at home and I have processed some 14 or so rolls. I have also been spending a lot of time shooting on expired 35mm film and learning to love the simplicity of my Minolta SRT-101. I sold my first print in 2023 and I will have an image featured in a zine soon. I have also spent a lot of time on threads and have made quite a few new friends and contacts all around the world.
In 2024 I hope to continue to experiment with film. I have stocked up on expired and new film stocks and hope to shoot at least a roll of film each month. I also hope to travel and plan on visiting the Pacific Northwest sometime this spring. It has been a bucket-list item for me for quite some time.
I have also been looking into purchasing a medium format film camera as well as a full frame digital camera in the next year. I plan to retire the trusty Canon Rebel T7 and upgrade to something with a few more features. I have been trying my best to resist the urge to dive into the fuji ecosystem but so far that looks to be the direction that I am headed. Although that Nikon Z fc is looking very tempting.
Anyhow, I just wanted to make a quick post to let everyone know that I am indeed still alive and kicking. Here are some contact sheets from my recent experience with film.
