Kodak KB18 with Gold 200

I recently decided to dip my toes back into film photography along with my work with my DSLR. When I took journalism in high school, I used a Canon 35mm SLR, I don’t recall the exact model. My family with the exception of my great grandmother, who had a contax, mostly had cheap throw away…

One Photo A Day – Day 49, Partners in Crime

I had an early call for work, so I spent most of the day after work catching up on zZz’s I did take the Canon Eos Film camera out for a few shots, but I was trying to save the bulk of my 400TX roll for a car show that is going to be in…

One Photo A Day – Day 48, Photography is not a crime.

One Photo A Day – Day 48, Photography is not a crime.

Today was interesting, the first time anyone has stopped me and questioned having a camera in my own neighborhood. I live in a somewhat upscale apartment community, so crime and riff raff are not really an issue. I have also gone on several walks with my DSLR around the trails and pond across the street…

One Photo A Day – Day 47, “Highlights”

Today was a pretty productive day for the most part. I was able to get caught up on a few things at work and the weather was abnormally nice around lunchtime. I took a walk around downtown and ended up over by the convention center. I was very disappointed in the state of disrepair that…

One Photo A Day – Day 46, Turkey Mountain

One Photo A Day – Day 46, Turkey Mountain

I was trying to take a walk down the river, but the bridge was backed up as far as I could see. I took a detour and stopped by Turkey Mountain and hiked along the trails. I was feeling black and white today probably because of the way the sun was shining through the trees….

One Photo A Day – Day 45, Lake Sahoma/Pretty Water

One Photo A Day – Day 45, Lake Sahoma/Pretty Water

How do you follow up a trip to the Blue Whale in Catoosa? You don’t. It was pretty windy today and I decided to grab some drive through and head out to Lake Sahoma for a relaxing lunch and to read a few chapters of my book. I tried to capture some of the “waves”…

One Photo A Day – Day 44, The Blue Whale

One Photo A Day – Day 44, The Blue Whale

Perhaps one of the most photographed places anywhere near my home. I have been putting off visiting with the camera for several weeks now. I knew that if I was going to make the drive I wanted there to at least be some kind of clouds in the sky. Today it was overcast with a…

One Photo A Day – Day 43, Punk Rock Flea Market

I stopped in on the punk rock flea market and hung out with a friend who had a booth there selling his artwork as well as got a few shots of the people around the event. I took a lot of random photos of the crowd and tried to narrow it down to 10 photos…

PS Actions and stepping up my Instagram game.

PS Actions and stepping up my Instagram game.

Tonight, I spent some time learning photoshop actions. Essentially Photoshop has the ability to allow you to record macros and re-play them over and over for any photo. I’ve seen a lot of downloads where these are essentially used as presets or styles. I had not really considered creating my own. I have been struggling…

One Photo A Day – Day 42, Sapulpa Auto Museum

I went for a drive this afternoon and stopped by the Auto Museum to grab a couple shots of the big ass gas pump. I also noticed a mural on the side of an oil tank, as well as got some shots of the Rock Creek Bridge while it’s still here.
