Today I was not feeling well at all I had a bit of a toothache on top of my normal pain. I thought about going out and getting some photos of some neon around the city as I have compiled a list of a few interesting places that I want to try to go back at night and see what I can come up with. However, I figured that my M200 will be back tomorrow and it’s far more suited for night photography.
I also needed to spend some time framing the prints that I made last night. I’ve been learning how to set up the print profiles for the paper types and how to “soft proof” them on the computer. It’s not quite perfect but its close enough that I’m happy with the prints. I have learned to do smaller test prints to conserve ink. I am looking into borrowing a calibration tool or purchasing one soon. I should be able to calibrate my monitor to get a better representation. Although I may eventually invest into a dedicated photo editing monitor in the next year or two. As of right now I don’t intend on selling any of my prints to the public so there isn’t really a big rush on having each print being 100% perfect. I’m just having fun learning the techniques and building my collection.
At any rate, here are a few photos of the behind-the-scenes process. I don’t expect the red one to stay on the wall very long as I will probably be gifting it to a friend soon. But having the space on the wall and the ability to print my photos will really help me to study them more and figure out which ones have staying power.
