Okay, I admit it. I didn’t feel like going out this afternoon. Why? The cartridges and usb extension cable arrived for my Pixma Pro-10 today and I spent most of my evening installing, configuring, and making test prints. So, while I technically didn’t get out and take an “instagram banger” photo, I took a few photos of the printer and prints. 🙂
I also stopped by Walmart and picked up a couple of large frames. I don’t really know what I want to print larger than 8×10 at the moment.
The quality of this Canon professional printer is so good. The HP printer isn’t bad at all by any means, but the image just isn’t as sharp, and its colors are slightly oversaturated compared to the canon. But I wouldn’t say it’s a big of enough different NOT to keep using the HP for printing 5×7 and 4×6 images. Besides the ink is unlimited 🙂
The ink consumption on the canon really is not too terrible. It was a bit expensive to get the initial 10 pack of cartridges, but I was fortunate that only two of the cartridges in the printer were empty and needing replaced and each of the cartridges are about 15 bucks each. I used the black and co out of the 10 pack and ordered individual replacements. My plan is to always keep 1 spare cartridge on hand and order a replacement as I install the spare. This should keep me printing with minimal downtime.
Here are a few shots of the prints from the “new” printer.
