I took a different path home the other day and noticed this tree about half a mile from my home. I decided for my afternoon walk today to take a stroll in that direction and make a photo of it. I think it turned out pretty good.
I also came across these yellow sunflowers (or black-eyed Susan? I’m not an expert) blooming along the side of the road.
I also took a few shots with the Aerochrome profile. It really makes me wish that they still made this film stock. It would have been really cool to have developed a roll of it for real. Perhaps Kodak will bring it back one day.
I also practiced some indoor shots with my cats.
I have also been looking into upgrading my printer. I can currently print 8.5×11 prints with an HP photo printer but it’s far from professional but very high quality. I have been drooling over the Canon Pixpro 300 and was planning on saving up for one over the next year. Today I was given the opportunity to purchase a PIXPRO 10 which is the previous generation of the Pixpro 300 for an insane price. A member of my local photography club was moving and offered me the printer for only 50 bucks! He also threw in about 300 sheets of A3 photo paper. This alone was worth the 50 bucks I paid for the printer. This is probably the closest I will come to winning the lottery. Ha.
The only catch is that the ink is dry, and I will have to get new Ink for it which will cost about 3x what I paid for the printer. But this will give me the ability to print archive quality prints with pigment dye ink up to 13x19inches. The HP printer will still be the primary workhorse for anything smaller than 8.5×11 unless I am selling the print. I can’t wait to get the ink cartridges and make my first large print.
