Tonight I went and met and hung out with the Tulsa Area Photographic Society at the gathering place. We practiced shooting some night photography and I tried to get some candid street style shots. I went away with a couple of lessons learned. 1. Always remove your filters after you use them. I ruined half of my shots on one of my lens because of this error. 2. When you think your camera is broken, check that you didn’t accidently set the 2 second shutter timer on. Doh!. 😛
I liked this image the best because I was lucky that the Tree’s in the foreground also kind of line up with the lights on the building which in turn also kind of line up with the three cooling towers. I dunno It just kind of flows to me.
I also took this one, I have been studying a lot of Ansel Adams work and techniques. I spot metered for the dark ground in front and the highlight and the sky and kind of tried to split the difference. I got most of it in camera. I did drop the highlights a bit in Lightroom to make the clouds pop a bit as they were a tiny bit overexposed and added a few points of dehaze and clarity. I used a Fuji Pro 160H profile on my Canon Rebel T7 for the color image and a fuji neopan 400 profile for the black and white photo.
Here are the rest of the photos from the basketball courts and trail. We met several people and most all of them thought we were with some kind of magazine or newspaper and were eager to be photographed. I let others do the talking and just quietly snapped some photos. 🙂
