What a contrast from yesterday. I woke up this morning with a migraine headache and a bit of a soar throat. I used a day of PTO and slept away most of the day. When I woke up I took a trip down to Apertures Camera shop in Tulsa, OK. They had quite a selection of used gear and older film cameras and a good selection of film. I picked up a roll of Ilford HP5 and Kodak UltraMax 400 to toss in the fridge for future use.
I was there because I discovered that they also offer all the same services that thedarkroom.com offers and they are local to my hometown. I have had zero issues with thedarkroom.com and I highly recommend them. I just wanted to shop locally and support the last standing independent camera shop in town. If the results are satisfactory, I think I will continue to shop, there.
I also found out that they offer a class on both film development and dark room printing and that they will be posting the next sessions dates in the coming weeks. It should be sometime in October after they move into a new facility. I’m pretty excited about that as I’ve always been curious about how to print from a film negative without a computer or printer.
The weather turned sour pretty quickly and unfortunately my camera is not well suited for shooting in the rain so I decided to take a drive around the back roads where I grew up until it calmed down and I could find something interesting to make a photo of.
