Oh what a day it has been. 🙂 I had a pretty busy day at work wrapping up tickets and catching up on some of my training before I head to Corpus on Monday. I decided to stay at home and work today since I needed to get some laundry done and wrap up some chores around the house. I wasn’t really sure what to do or where to go and then I remembered that there is a train engine and depot museum nearby and I had just enough time to get there before the sun fully set.
I also got my 35mm Kodak camera today. It’s a little cheap KB18 automatic point and shoot. I figure it should be at least as good as a throw away camera, right? I’ve also got some more “vintage” 35mm point and shoots on the way as well as a Canon Rebel II 35mm camera that is compatible with most of my current lens collection and is essentially a 35mm film version of my Canon Rebel T7. I think I will save my good film for that body.
I cashed in some credit card rewards and picked up a box of fuji 400 film for my Corpus trip. I accidently destroyed my roll of ColorPlus 200 so I loaded the Kodak Gold 200 into the KB18 and took some test shots around the apartment and at the Red Fork Depot. I’ll have to wait for those to be developed to post.
I have been considering doing mini reviews of the point and shoots that I pick up for cheap and including some sample scans in the reviews on the website. We will see, that could get kind of expensive.
I also picked up a fuji Instax mini 7 and a couple boxes of film for it. The photos are incredibly small and the box of film that came with the camera seemed to be over exposed, that or I did something wrong with the settings. The store had some boxes with fancy marble backgrounds on sale for half price, so I picked up one of those. It works, I guess. The photos taken on that pack of film did expose a lot better.
