One Photo A Day – Day 15

Posted on August 6, 2023January 24, 2025 By lonniebruton

The way I was feeling early in the morning I was not sure how today’s photo would turn out. I worked an on-call rotation and was up pretty late for work so I slept in until almost noon and missed all the good morning lighting. Not that there was any to be had today. Thunderstorms had moved through and it was raining most of the morning.

By the time I got up and around It was approaching noon. The weather was nice there was a cool breeze and cloud cover from the sun. Today’s photo walk was going to be more comfortable than the past few. It has been above 100 degrees f all week. However the sun came out shortly after I departed and quickly put an end to that nonsense.

I met a couple of nice people on my walk today. A woman close to my age and an older man. They were very supportive of what I was doing and I gave the woman one of my cards with my linktree qr code. In hindsight I probably should have asked them if they wanted a portrait, but asking strangers to take their photograph is still one of the skills I need to work on. Social Anxiety and all of that. Having said that this has been helping me in that regard as I’m meeting more people and having more public interactions. So I guess that’s cool.

It was kind of difficult to pick the photo to feature as today’s “One Photo” as there were actually quite a few that turned out good. My primary goal for today was to stick to Manual mode and practice adjusting my aperture and shutter speeds to get a balanced exposure. For the most part I did pretty good.

I chose this one because I took the longest time in post. There was a building and some powerlines in the background. I decided to test out the new Photoshop beta and see what it could do. To my surprise it removed the building and powerlines almost flawlessly.

Here is the .JPG from the camera without any edits.

Now for the B-Roll Photos. It’s not really fair to call these that as each one of these photos was also practice in a technique or style.
